Sample Roman Blind Workshop Saturday 12th September 2026

Spend the day learning the traditional, hand finished way to make a Roman Blind. Make a sample size roman blind, no industrial machinery, no guesswork: just the same methods used by professional workroom makers, scaled down to a manageable sample size.

A small group so there is plenty of hands on 1:1 tuition.

The sample size is typically around 50cm wide x 90cm drop.

Where & when:

• At my studio in Four Marks, Hampshire
• 10am - 4pm

You'll learn to:

• Measure a window accurately for recess or face-fit
• Calculate fabric and lining quantities
• Hand stitch every part with appropriate stitches 
• About the cassette headrails and child safety
• How to fit 

You'll leave with:

• A finished sample to use as a reference
• A take-home step-by-step instruction guide
• The skills and confidence to make full size roman blinds at home

what you need to bring:

• Your sewing machine, in working order, with cream/white thread and bobbin
• some lunch or snacks
• open mind for a wonderful day learning new skills
